The Memorial

This is just a sketch of the proposed memorial to be placed at Canalside.

Created by USMC – Vietnam Veteran and Artist Ralph Sirianni, this memorial will consist of two brown granite  structures.

The first – an offset shape of an “I” representing  Iraq

The second – an offset “A” representing the mountains of Afghanistan.

An inscription at the base will recognize all Western New York residents who have served in these missions.

Both will bear the names of the  residents of the Western counties who have died as a result of the wars.

Funds for the WNY Iraq/Afghanistan Memorial are being raised through a New York State registered 501(c)3.  Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible.  Please consult your tax adviser as to the extent of your deduction.
